Evelyn Yvonne Dyer

Evelyn Yvonne Dyer, age 88, of Independence, passed away March 21, 2017. Visitation, Thursday, March 23, 2017, 11am. Funeral Service 12:00pm, March 23, 2017. Services at Newcomer’s Noland Road Chapel. Burial in Mt Washington Cemetery. Evelyn was born March 2, 1929 in Lenape, Ks to Charles and Gladys (Baker) Ross. She was raised and educated on a farm near Eudora, Ks. She graduated from Eudora High School in 1947. She married Roy Leon Dyer, December 31, 1949 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He passed away 1993. From this marriage, son Clyde and daughter Deena were born. The primary focus in Evelyn’s life was raising and caring for her family. Later in life, she and Roy enjoyed traveling the United States and caring for her grandchildren. Her passions consisted of her time with Roy, their various craft pursuits and spending time with friends. Preceded in death by brother Bruce Baker from Henderson, Nevada. Survived by; Son, Clyde(Linda) Dyer, Daughter, Deena Smith. Brother, Charles(Sonny) Ross. Grandchildren; Heather(David)Foose, Matthew(Megan) Smith, Justen Dyer, Alexandra Dyer. Gr grandchildren; Sophie(Philip)Carpenter, Quinn Foose, Bailey Pollock, Ethan Smith, Lakynne Smith. Gr gr grandson Leon Grey Carpenter.
