I was around 5 years old when Bro. Harry came to Immanuel.  My mother was the church secretary at the time.  Bro. Harry led me to Christ as a 7 yr. old boy.  I will always love and remember this precious man!  Thanks to his faithfulness and example, I surrendered to ministry in H.S. and have been in ministry for the past 45 years.  I can't wait to see him again in heaven.

Brother Harry was my pastor early on in life and remained a good, Godly man as long as I knew him. He also married my wife and I 29 years ago. My condolences to the family. We will all miss him very much.

Brother Harry was a great man.  He was with my family as we said goodbye to mom and dad.  From the time I was 10, he was always our preacher.  I'm glad he is together again with his dear wife Fern and the Lord...

I first met Brother Harry when I was about ten years old. Our family had just moved to Chillicothe, Mo. and it wasn't long before our mother had us going to church at Calvary Baptist where Pastor Harry Clifton served. She had known him since she was young. She was from Half Rock, Mo.  Our family loved Brother Harry. I remember how he would come to our home to visit with my parents sometimes. And oh how I remember those old fashioned revival meetings and how the church would just be packed with people. And I also have fond memories of so many children lining the sidewalk in front of the church for vacation Bible school and how much fun that was for us all. Brother Harry was one very special person and a great pastor. I'll never forget how he would wipe the tears from his eyes as he preached the gospel. I'll never forget that! He made such an influence in my life that I will always cherish. I'm sorry you had to let him go for now, but there is coming a great gathering one day soon and Oh what a day that is going to be. I'm so glad that all my siblings are saved and my children. One person can make a difference in so many peoples lives Christ. Brother Harry did just that! God bless your family and comfort you. I raised my three children at Immanuel Baptist while Brother Harry was Pastor there. What a man of God. We loved him and his family dearly.  Our prayers are with the family.  Ina Martino

Harry Clifton was a beautiful man who loves Jesus more than one can imagine! I was blessed to have him as my father-in-law for almost ten years. He baptized me and shared his love of Jesus with so many, including me. Martha, Mary, and Mark we are saddened for your loss, but rejoice that your mom and dad are together with our Lord!

Martha, Mary  and John Mark - my heart is saddened with the news of your father's passing.  He was a great influence in my life and my committment to and walk with the Lord.  All of us grew up together in Chillicothe and Brother Harry always provided the example for which I chose my lifetime mate and spiritual leader of our home.  He and Fern provided the model of how to establish a Christian home.  Thank you so much for sharing your father with  the numerous people he lead and served. Uncle Harry was my late father's brother. He was friend to both my father and late mother. He headed his own family that resulted in wonderful daughters and son, Martha, Mary Ruth and John Mark. A humble man of God who meant a lot to my family and who impacted some many lives.  Rest in peace Uncle Harry, you have earned it.

Our hearts are saddened to know that Brother Harry will not be with us on earth.  I told him the last time I spoke to him that he was the Matriarch of our family, the most precious, faithful and Godly man I have ever known.  He was always there for a funeral - even in his poor health.  It was an honor to have him there. I loved him dearly.  The most humble man that had such a love for the Lord - when he prayed, the Spirit so strong.  We know he is rejoicing with the Lord he served so faithfully, and with Fern, whom he loved so dearly.  Our hope is in the return of Christ in the rapture - we hope to see you soon.

When uncle Harry,s nephew, Ken Clifton was going to leave for Vietnam, Uncle Harry said to him, I wish you were taking the Lord with you. Ken a few years later did get saved I'm sure Uncle Harry was praying for him.Thanks to Uncle Harry for being such a great Christian example to the family. Condolences to his family.

Brother Harry was the pastor I grew up knowing. He truly did represent God for many of us at Calvary Baptist Church. He was close to my dad(Bob A) and I remember him and his family fondly. I especially remember VBS, picnics and camp. 
I can picture him with dad and several others in heaven talking about Jesus coming back to the new Jerusalem!

Brother Harry was the first pastor I knew.  He represented everything I knew about God for my first 10 years of life.  He was more than a pastor, he was a close family friend.  I once told him he was the closest person to God that I knew.  He humbly said " well, I don't know about that..."  Well I did and I still feel that way even now.  I know he has entered the gates of Heaven, welcomed by all the Angels for his good works on Earth.  I am proud to have known him and his beautiful family.  Rest in Peace, Dear Friend,.  Until we meet again....
