away on February 8 at the Kansas City Hospice House surrounded by
loved ones.
Melinda was born to James and Lillian Neidel on July 26,
1960 in Independence Missouri. She graduated from the Fort Osage
high school in 1978. Melinda worked in retail most of her life and also
helped her dad with his construction business. She had a passion for
talking to anyone and everyone, no one was a stranger to her. In her
free time, Melinda loved going to the family cabin, staying up at all
hours of the night watching her favorite T.V shows, and most
importantly spending quality time with her four grandchildren, whom
she lived for. Melinda also had a love for Danielle Steel books. She
loved shopping at different stores, finding the most unique hot wheels
cars for her grandbabies.
Melinda is preceded in death by her mother, father, and niece Lacey Neidel.
Survivors of Melinda include her older brother James Neidel of Buckner Missouri, her younger brother
Michael Neidel (Laura) of Leawood Kansas, her son Ryan Harshner
(Holly) of Lee’s Summit Missouri, her daughter Samantha Nellis
(Byron) of Buckner Missouri, four grandchildren Logan (13) Lilli (10)
Johna (8) Kolten (8), along with cousins and her great niece Jade, that
she adored.
