Richard "Todd" Smith, 55, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 2, 2018, at his home in Independence, MO. A memorial service will be held at the Noland Road Chapel on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00 am.
Todd was born in Kansas City, KS on August 27, 1962 to Carol Sue Wilcox Smith and Richard W Smith.
He was married in 1987 to Denise Flores. From that marriage he had two daughters, Christine and Kimberly.
While raising his daughters he enjoyed going to Royals baseball games, taking family trips to the lake and making breakfast with his daughters.
Most recently, besides spending time with his children and grandchildren, he enjoyed having dinner and going shopping with his sister, Kathy. He made weekly visits to see his father-in-law and watch the Chiefs games and Nascar races. He loved going to the lake to see his dad. He also had a wonderful community of neighbors that he spent a lot of time with.
He is survived by his daughters, Christine Shorley (Joshua) and Kimberly Elliott (Riley), his father, Richard Smith, his three siblings and six grandchildren. Todd was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Smith.
In lieu of flowers or donations, call a loved one and go enjoy a meal together. He would have wanted that.
