
Ruth E. FRANTZ 1914-2014 After a life well lived, Ruth E. Frantz, age 100, died on Thursday, December 18, 2014. Ruth was born to Edward and Emily Nolte on August 31, 1914, in St. Louis, MO. Ruth lived in St. Louis until 1930 when her family moved to Kansas City. She graduated from Northeast High School at age 16 and attended William Jewell College and Central Missouri State College. Ruth was active in Job’s Daughters during her teen years and in 1932 served as Honored Queen of Bethel #7 in Kansas City. She married John C. Frantz December 25, 1934, and had three daughters. Ruth served faithfully as a pastor’s wife for almost 60 years. Ruth loved books, worked as a librarian for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Independence. Ruth loved people and people loved her. She found much good in everyone she met, she loved to laugh and she loved a good joke. Ruth was preceded into death by her husband John; son-in-law, Jim R. George, and great-grandchild, Parke Littlejohn. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and John Sanders, Joan George Bodenhamer (Delbert) and Janis Rowland. Grandchildren, Jamie George (Cathy), Jeff Rowland (Christina), Karyn Ruth (Rob) Littlejohn, Cathy (David) Thomas, Mary Lou (Tim) Wimberley, John (Jan) George, Chris (Melissa) Sanders, and Matt (Jill) Sanders. Ruth also leaves 18 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. May her memory forever be a blessing. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Monday, December 22, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Independence. Burial to follow in Longview Memorial Gardens. A “Celebration of Life” in honor of Ruth will be 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the John C. and Ruth E.
