Ann leaves behind her daughters: Darlene (Lloyd Tyson), Norine Nichols and Angela (Bob Jewitt); her cherished grandchildren: Brett Tyson (Erin), Derrick Tyson (Rachel), Curtis Nichols (Karelia) and Kyle Nichols (Andrea) as well as her sisters-in-law Doreen Gigian and Josephine Bostock and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann was predeceased by her loving husband Walter Bostock after a lifetime of love, dedication and hard work. She was also predeceased by her parents Theodore and Dochitza Pauliuk; sisters Victoria Bostock (Ken) and Mary Silzer (John); brothers: George Pauliuk (Victoria), Alex Pauliuk and John Pauliuk (Janet); brothers-in-law Roger Bostock and Robert Bostock as well as her son-in-law Allan Nichols.
Ann and Walter were married at the Westminster Church in Regina and they spent their whole lives together as a team, working hard on their mixed farm as crop and livestock producers. She could operate a combine, tractor, grain truck or herd and treat cattle and still provide a delicious meal for the family after a long day. She loved the farming life raising cattle and calves, keeping brown Swiss cows that she would use as nurse cows so she could buy calves from the local dairy farmers and raise them, feeding calves by bottle when there were no spare mothers to go around. Ann loved most animals on the farm, but especially horses, her love of which she passed on to her daughters. She greatly enjoyed riding her spirited and beautiful Arabian gelding which she had purchased in the 70s, going trail riding (she loved attending the Royal Red Arabian Horse show with her daughters Angela, Norine and Darlene, sister Victoria and niece Denise). Ann and Walter also both loved their John Deere equipment, even their snowmobiles were J.D.
Seeding and harvest time were always a special time of year as meals and teatime were brought out to the field and pie was often on the menu. These are fond family memories; Ann was a great cook, and everyone was welcome at her table. Family, friends and neighbors always looked forward to her traditional meals of perogies, cabbage rolls, borscht, beet rolls, bread and cinnamon buns as well as her famous donuts, butter tarts, biscuits and variety of pies. She also generously passed on the art of making her world-class strudel to the family. She used to make flapper pie for the fowl suppers in McLean, which the ladies would hide in the back to have after the rush was over. Ann also worked in a daycare for a few years in Indian Head and then drove school bus for 17 years which she enjoyed because of the children.
Ann took great joy in caring for all manner of animals large and small, she extended kindness to all of God’s creatures in equal measure and was a steadfast attendant of the Anglican Church in McLean. Ann always engaged in the community, she took part in the Vernon/McLean Church choir which even performed at the Westminster Church in Regina for a Christmas Festival and other special occasions. It was also always a tradition to enter a float in the annual McLean sports day parade. She brought warmth to everyone around her just by her presence. Ann was an exemplary wife, mother and grandmother. She and Walter were constant in their devotion to each other and in caring for their family to their last days.
Her family and those who knew her will miss Ann for her kindness, generosity and gracious soul but may find some solace in knowing that Ann and Walter are finally reunited and together at rest.
