Elsie recalled losing her Dad at a young age. She was only 12 years old and remembered staying strong for her Mum. After her Dad passed, the family moved from Cupar to Wapella and started a new life, which proved to be extremely hard for them all.
She was proud of her strong, loving family. She was very thankful for the love and support she received from her children Debra, Kevin, Karla and Ronda.
Elsie expressed that her fondest memories included meeting Ron and their marriage of 39 years. Although Ron was the strong financial supporter of the family, Elsie worked tirelessly as a farm wife, caring for the four children and tending to chores and cooking endless delicious meals. She stated that these were happy times and, although at times challenging, the kids were great!
Elsie said her greatest joy was becoming a grandmother and then a great-grandmother. She thoroughly enjoyed all the great times they had together.
Elsie left a note that read: All the kids are very special and were lots of fun to be with. I believe that is what has kept me going to this special age! Thanks kids for all you have done for me over these special years! Love you all!!!
Elsie left this world on Friday, June 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves a legacy of loving memories with daughter Debra (Ray) and their children Stuart (Jenna) and Patrick and their grandchildren: Wyatt, Everett and Sarah; her son Kevin (Karol) and their children: Joel (Jacquie), Jenny (Ryan), Jenelle (Kris), Ashleigh (Brendon), Mitchell, Storm (Michael), Tahni (Chris) and their grandchildren: Rayna, Liam, Kase, Hunter, Isabelle, Sloan, Rilee-Rae, Nova, Tucker, Macie and Demi; her daughter Karla (Rob) and their children David (DeaElle) and Kimberley (Curtis) and their grandchildren: Bayden, Carter, Dexin and Brody; her daughter Ronda (Tim) and their child Amanda and their grandchildren: Annabelle, Lily, Asher, Adalee and Evee.
