

MILDENBERGER - On Thursday, December 20, 2012, George Alexander Mildenberger passed away peacefully at the age of 83 years. George was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Rosina, stepfather Vincent Vogt, brother Wendelin and sister-in-law Clara, brother Lawrence and sister-in-law Beatrice, sister-in-law Sally (Leo Mildenberger), sister Theresa (Steve Deck), brother-in-law John Tymura (Rose), and brother John in infancy. Left to mourn George’s passing are his wife of 60 years, Jean Mildenberger, son Terry Mildenberger (Joanne), grandson Scott (Lindsay) and their children Lily and Jack, grandson Joel; son Lyle (Shelley), grandson Josh and granddaughter Amy (Jim Ambrus); son Jaycee (Janet), granddaughter Cecilia (Chad Keturakis) and their children Reed and Chloe; granddaughter Nicole (Gary Baba) and their children Brooklyn, Kaitlin, and Ashlynn. Also left are his sisters Rose Tymura, Sr. Colombiere and Sr. Johanna Mildenberger, brother Leo Mildenberger and brother-in-law Steve Deck. George was born and raised on the family farm north of Sedley, SK. He attended Normal School in Moose Jaw and got his teaching certificate, then taught at Browning and Lemberg, SK. He married Jean Mayo in Lemberg, then started a long career with Beaver Lumber, starting in Fillmore, then to Tramping Lake, Earl Grey, Southey, and finally Indian Head. He and Mom spent many years in their home in Indian Head until Dad had to be moved to the Golden Prairie Home. He managed to keep busy making rosaries for anyone who wanted one. He had one in his hands at his passing. George was jack of all trades. He loved gardening, travelling, playing cards, visiting his friends. He always had a joke or a story to share. He wasn`t afraid to try building anything, from trellises to a greenhouse, sheds by the dozen, to his own house. George was dedicated to his church and was a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus. He was especially proud of his work in getting Father Joe Balzer Council started in Indian Head. The funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Indian Head, SK. on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. George Thattuparampil. Cremation with a family interment in Indian Head Cemetery.
