

She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Joseph Kattler; parents Sebastian Merk and Wilhemina (nee Stroh); in-laws Herman and Catherine Kattler; also predeceased by her siblings and in-laws: Alfreda and Paul Moser, Seb Merk, Gertie and Joe Volk, Alec and Irene Kattler, Karl Kattler, Barbara and George Wanchulak, Ron Kattler, Minnie and George Kopp, Mary and Alex Hackywicz, Charlotte Emde, Charmaine and Gord Laskey, Elsie and Raymond Curts, Evy and Victor Sebastian, Ivan Laskey, Nick Baumgartner, Alan Reynard, Wayne McNaughton, Rick Rickare as well as great-granddaughter Nyomi Deufemia.
Joyce is survived by her children: Laurie (Wayne) Priddell and their children Dean Moison, Keith, Tanya (Mike) Belanger, Lisa Boyd; Deanna (Barry) Kirchmeier; Lawrence (Marilyn) Kattler and their children Shane (Nadia) Winter, Amanda (Jason) Kattler-Conord, Andrea (Warren) Cook, Kris and Carley Wilken; Danny (Tammy) Kattler and their children Ryan (Ashley) Kattler, Randi (Eric) Gray, Kyle and Karter Kattler; Kenny (Kathy) Kattler and their daughter Holly (Andrew); Donna Kattler and her daughters Danielle (Scott) and Desiree (Neil) as well as 19 great- grandchildren. Joyce is also survived by her sisters: Sandy Deis, Charlotte (Dave) Railton, Betty Anne MacGregor, Suzy (Dale) Mohr and sisters-in-law: Elsie Kattler, Alice Raynard, Cathy Laskey and Claudette Castagner, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Joyce was raised in Vibank, and met and married the love of her life Lawrence Kattler in Vibank. They raised their family in Indian Head. Throughout her life, Joyce worked as a cook in many establishments including Dew Drop-In, the Shell Restaurant and the Indian Head Hotel. She also worked at the PFRA up until her retirement. Joyce was an active member of the Heritage Club, the Community Bible Church and spent a great deal of time cheering on her children and grandchildren in the AJM Davies Arena watching hockey, volunteering and putting many hours in the kitchen.
In her later years, you could find her at the local Karaoke nights enjoying the local talent and singing. When there wasn’t Karaoke you could find her playing cards or Mexican Train, with great passion and vigor and a few choice words. Joyce was happiest when surrounded by family and friends and those who were lucky enough to know her, were left with a lasting impression.

The funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Indian Head Memorial HalI, Indian Head, with Pastor Bill Glaspell and Pastor Justin Epp. The interment took place in the Indian Head Cemetery.
