He was predeceased by his parents, Glenn and Jo Hubbs; sister, Alice Hubbs; brother-in-laws, Jim Stoneouse and Alvin Harbicht; and father-in-law, Bill Small.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Sue; daughter, Laurie (Mike) Heisler; grandson, Asher; brother Al(Diane) Hubbs; sister, Sharon (Randy) Blair; mother-in-law, Agnes Small; sister-in-law, Laura (Don) Spence; many nieces and nephews; Kyla Gwilliam, who felt like a second daughter to him; as well as many extended family and friends.
His true passion was horses, rodeo and the people associated with it. While growing up he loved playing hockey and carried on the love as a die-hard Maple Leafs fan.
Family and friends were very near and dear to his heart, especially his grandson, Asher, who gave him the will to keep fighting.
A special thanks to the Indian Head Union Hospital doctors and staff for the wonderful care Les received over the years especially to his long-time doctor and friend, Dr. Bruce Zimmerman. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the staff at Lakeside Home in Wolseley for the compassionate care Les received this last 8 1/2 months.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 22nd, at 2:00 p.m. in the Memorial Hall, Indian Head, SK.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Les' memory can be made to the Indian Head and District Hospital Foundation (Box 1547 Indian Head, SK) or the Resident Activity Group - Wolseley Nursing Home.
