Marion was born on March 6, 1928 on the family farm at Oxbow, SK, the place of many happy childhood experiences, friendships, and memories. As a child, Marion had plans to become a teacher and to marry a farmer. Both of these plans were fulfilled. After High School, Marion attended Normal School in Moose Jaw and then taught at a country school near Storthoaks, SK and later at a country school southeast of Indian Head, SK. It was at Indian Head that she met and later married Hartley Scott in 1951. In the years that followed, Marion kept busy raising five children, participating in numerous social and service clubs, being active in St. Andrew's United Church and contributing to her community. Marion and Hartley moved from the farm south of Indian Head into town in 1974 where Marion continued to work diligently to support her community. A great joy for Marion in her later years were her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished every opportunity to be part of their lives and to give her support in every way possible.
Marion was predeceased by her husband Hartley in year 2000; her parents Tom and Mary Johnson; sister Myrtle Moore; brother George Johnson; brothers-in-law Will Olive and Bill Moore and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.
Marion is survived by two daughters, Eunice (Ron) and Karen (Barry); and three sons, Colin (Monica), Kevin (Diane) and Terrence (Kathy); seventeen grandchildren including Leanne, Tracey, and Cory; Daniel, Evon (Alessandra), Sean, and Jinya; Sarah (Aaron), Matthew (LeAnne), Andrew (Kristen), and Joanna (Rob); Jeff (Nicole), Derek (Michelle), Michael, and Tayler (Leah); Trevor (Dalyce) and Ian; as well as great- grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Edna Olive and sisters-in-law Gertie Scott and Betty Johnson and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.
