Margaret (Bobst) Hitchens was born on January 14, 1928 in the Hardy, Saskatchewan district, and took her schooling in Hardy school.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Harry in May, 1989; parents Lucy (LaVanway) in 1975 and David Bobst in 1982; granddaughter Angela Mus Bogue in May 2003, and several sisters and brothers-in-law.
She is survived by her daughter Nellie (Joe) Mus of Qu’Appelle, SK; sister Mildred Blixrud of Weyburn, SK; brother Mel (Sharon) Bobst of Lumsden, SK; granddaughters Pamela (Steve) Homes of Victoria, BC., and Shea (Jason) Rucci of Calgary, AB; grandson-in-law Robert Bogue of Castlegar; three great grandsons, Cole Mus Bogue of Vancouver, BC., and Jackson and Oliver Mus Holmes of Victoria, BC.; great granddaughter Chavelle Rucci of Calgary, AB., and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Margaret worked for a short time in Assiniboia, SK., before coming to Indian Head. There she worked in different cafés, and then in February of 1962, began working at the Indian Head Hospital. She retired from the hospital in November of 1976. Margaret was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, sang in the choir, and belonged to various women’s organizations. Margaret also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and tending to her garden and yard.
The funeral service will be held in St. Andrew's United Church, Indian Head on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. Don Jewitt officiating. Interment to follow in Indian Head Cemetery.
