Amos Stewart, (75), was called home from his residence of Greenfield, Indiana on Tuesday morning, November 21, 2023. He was born on January 11, 1948 in Cliftonville, Mississippi to his parents Robert James Stewart and Aretha Hall-Stewart. His final months were spent in his Indianapolis home with his daughter, Angela and his two grandkids. Amos had touched them all in many ways, while living a very memorable life.
October 11, 1966, Amos began his career working as a Crane Operator at Inland Steel Mill. This place became Amos’ second home. He worked day in and day out; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts including doubles. This was his way of taking care of himself and home. On November 30, 1996, Amos had retired after completing a term of 30 years in the mill. Outside of the days his three children were born, this was one of his most memorable moments.
Amos was known and loved by many! He had several names he would answer to: Bo-Bo, Willie, Sweet Will/Sweet Willie, Mr. Stewart, and Daddy. Amos had an open heart for every person he met. He was a provider and a protector, and he never left you second-guessing. He was direct, funny and loving at the same time. Although he will be missed now, he wants us to know that we will meet again!
Amos was preceded in death by both parents, and four siblings: George Hall, James Hall, Olive Thompson and Grady Stewart. He is survived by wife Sinoveia Stewart. Amos leaves behind to cherish memories, three children: Amos Stewart, Angela Stewart, and Naquisha Stewart; four step-children: RhyaQuib Stovall, Tranita Stovall, Andrew Stovall, and Jerome Nichols; and a Bonus Child: Jennifer M. Dennie. Brothers: Andy Stewart, Robert (Diane) Stewart and Dennis (Hilde) Stewart. Sisters: Cynthia Keaton, Pauline Stewart, Diane (David) Sloan, Janice Brewer, Annie Pearl Pryor, Eliza Johnson, Theresa Stewart, Helen Donald, Imogene Stewart and a host of grandchildren, a great-grandson, nieces, nephews and friends.
