Ann Fears, 81, Kokomo, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at Fairmont Rehabilitation Center. She was born to the late John Thomas and Alberta Whitfield on April 29, 1932, in Clarksville, Tenn.

Ann was a 1950 graduate of Kokomo high school. She was employed at Delco Electronics, retiring after 30 years of service. Ann was united in holy matrimony to Willis E. Fears on Feb. 20, 1954. Of this union four children were born.

Sister Ann Fears was a faithful member of Second Missionary Baptist Church, serving on the usher board along with being a member of the Missionary Circle and joining other women in Widows to Widows.

Granny Ann, as many called her, was hugely devoted to her entire family. She immensely enjoyed cooking Sunday dinner with Grandpa and feeding family and friends alike. She also socially enjoyed being a Daughter of the Elks.

A special thank you to the staff of Fairmont Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Lance Washington and Kenosha Pigg, R.N., and hospice.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory two sons, Jerome Fears (Denise), St Louis, Mo., and Marvin Fears (Gwendolyn), Indianapolis; two daughters, Donna Henderson, Kokomo, E. Denise Fears, Phoenix, Ariz.; special son, Zavrie Whitfield, Kokomo; brother, Willie Whitfield, five sisters, Bertha Gregory, Eunice Childs, Lillian Abatan, Lucy Tribue and Magaline Whitfield; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, family and friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, two sisters and a daughter.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Second Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Robert A. Lee will be the officiant and eulogist. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of services Monday. Burial will be in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery.
