
Barbara Luree Collins passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born on April 7, 1945, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Joseph and Luree Collins. She was preceded in death by her brother Richard.
Barbara graduated from Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She dedicated ten years of her career to K-Mart before retiring from Scott Industrial Systems. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Barbara found fulfillment in volunteering with Riley Cancer Research for Children, where she lovingly crafted Christmas ornaments to bring joy to young patients.
Barbara had a passion for needlework, reading, travel, and quilting. These hobbies brought her great joy and allowed her to share her creativity with those around her.
She is survived by her sister Carol (Larry) Compton and brothers Frank and Michael (Maryann) Collins. Barbara also leaves behind a cherished group of nieces and nephews: Allen Tanner; Mark and Hunter Collins; Kathi Jo Myers; Chasady Wilcher; Myle Collins; Merilee Krebs; Samantha Nelson; and Michelle Gass.
A memorial service will be held on February 1, 2025, at Maple Hill United Church, located at 4607 Northeastern Ave., Wanamaker, IN. Calling hours will take place from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by the service at 2 p.m., with a memorial gathering immediately afterward.
Barbara’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and dedication to bringing light into the lives of others.
