My heart goes out to all the extended Lee family. To me, Uncle Bill was the epitome of what a Christian man should be. He was the picture of moderation when all around were people taking their faith to extremes of judgement and restriction. I watched him openly express his love for Aunt Mary and as a young boy thought they were the coolest and funnest people ever to be around. 
As I grew older I saw what a gentleman he was. He was a great conversationalist and could engage in almost any subject. When I was young he and Aunt Mary had been sounding boards for many of the questions I had about life, faith and love. As an adult I realized he spent most of his time just listening closely while occasionally making comments. 
Not having been around him much through the last several years I still can’t believe this good man and his good wife are gone. I can’t imagine the sense of loss experienced by the family he loved so much.
I pray that his deep confidence and trust in his Lord and Savior Jesus will bring peace and hope to all of you.

Karen, Tim, John (and families), I am so sorry for your loss. I have the most precious memories of Uncle Bill. He was such a great example of faithful husband, father, grandfather, brother in law, and uncle. He was  great at telling stories and always made me laugh. I especially appreciated his ability to always be there- in good times and bad. He was a constant and in today's world, I realize how rare that is. He loved Jesus and I have total peace that we will all be reunited again with Jesus.

I have so many great memories from high school of Mr. Lee, whom we called "Billy Max", and Mrs. Lee.  They were two of the kindest people that you could ever meet.  Mike Hall, Todd Linville and myself spent A LOT of time at the Lee's house in Speedway, visiting Tim...and eating Mary's food!  She always fed us high school boys.  We would sit around their kitchen table and say crazy stuff, like we always did.  Mary would laugh, and Billy Max would just sit there, listening, with a smirk of a smile on his face.  They had no problem with us spending time at their house, and that was a blessing.  They also didn't mind that, for a couple of years on Labor Day weekend, Tim and I would stay up all night watching the Jerry Lewis telethon!  Billy Max was a great man, a great father, and a great friend to many.  While this certainly is a sad occasion, it's comforting to know that he is reunited with Mary...the love of his life...and they are both looking down on us all.     

Last time I visited Mr. Lee was at the end of February this year when he went into hospice.  I attended Eagledale Baptist Church from 1960 when I was born until 1988.  I told Mr. Lee that there wasn't a time in my life that I did not remember them.  Mr. and Mrs. Lee were faithful members like my family and there every time the doors were opened on Sunday morning, Sunday nights and Wednesday prayer meeting.  Mrs. Lee signed for the Deaf Ministry as long as I can remember.  Their son Tim played baseball with me at Speedway High School and we were also double tennis partners on the team.  They were always there in support to watch as play as well as faithfully attended their children, grand children and great grandchildren.  When you look up Faithful, their picture should be found there in the Webster's Dictionary.  Mr. and Mrs. Lee as I call them but also known as Bill and Mary were inseparable, and a foundation of Eagledale Baptist Church were even after the name changed remained faithful attenders for 60 years.  Case in point, their son Tim was awarded with 18 consecutive years of  Sunday School attendance. When the church went to give out the award, I got ready to stand up to also receive my award with Tim, but unbeknownst to me they lost my record. Only Tim's name was called.  You were able to attend another churches Sunday school when on vacation and out of town.  Sidenote- do you know how many times I had there's a Welcome Here there's a Christian welcome here sang to me as a stranger in a church visiting for the first time and endured all this and never got my 18 year award.  The attendance record is a testament to our parents faithfulness.  Certainly miss Mrs. Lee's big smile and visiting with the Lees after church every Sunday and the times at their house growing up.  No doubt they left a legacy that could never be surpassed.
