

Blanchy was born in Holly Springs, Mississippi to Thomas (T.C.) &Brooksie Young on August 15th, 1947. She graduated from Saint Mary’s High School in Holly Springs, Mississippi. After graduation, Blanchy later moved to Indianapolis, where she became a part of New Hope of Indiana (which is a non-profit organization, that empowers individuals with special needs, disabilities, etc.).Through the program Blanchy was able to work various jobs of interest to her, live independently through assisted living arrangements. She received many participant awards in singing, making musical CDs & videos. She enjoyed traveling, meeting people telling her stories.
Blanchy became a member of Barnes United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed attending worship services and singing songs of praise.
Blanchy is preceded in death by both parents, Thomas & Brooksie Young; 2 sisters, Earlean McNeil and Yvonne Barnett; 5 brothers: Donnie, Ezell, Odell, Theartis (Ted), and Eldridge Young.
Blanchy is survived by 5 sisters: Doris (Dan) Shaw, Vernita Jones, Voycell (Steven) Neal, Joycell (Dennis) Ingram and Brenda (Ronald) Appleton. She is also survived by Kenneth McNeil (brother-n-law), Maxine and Lynnette Young (sisters-n-law) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
