Catherine "Sudie" S. Harris

Ballard and I.V. Craine Ballard in Rison, Arkansas. She was the

baby of five girls and was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School

in Gary, Indiana.

Catherine married Fred Ford and this union was blessed with

daughters, Carmen and Fashon. She worked in the US Steel Mills

and proudly purchased her first home on her own, where she

raised her daughters.

In 1995, she married Henry Harris Jr., her unconditional love!

Professionally, she moved on as a Bank Teller for Calumet

National Bank, where she retired after several years of service.

“Sudie”, loved her family, her nephews and their families, Derrick

Brown, his son, Derrick Brown Jr., Rodney (Lisa) Brooks and

their daughters, Kala and Ashlyn, Kelly Brooks and his daughter

Kourtney Brooks and her niece Stacie Harris.

Catherine’s most joyful accomplishment was “Grammie” to her

grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.

Catherine is preceded in death by; her parents; husband, Henry

Harris Jr.; daughter, Fashon Ford, and sister Clouszell Dickens.

She leaves her memories to be cherished and remembered by

her daughter, Carmen Horne, grandchildren, Kamryn Horne,

Jordyn Horne, Daryl Snowden and Ballard Snowden; sisters, Mary

Yelder, Barbara Thompson and Ruby Harris. Lots of loving nieces,

nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, US, on March 23, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, US, on March 23, 2026, beginning at 12:00 pm.
