Obituary of Cecile Mildred "Cece" Wentz
Cecile Mildred Dugan Wentz, age 95, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021. Cecile (Cece) was born January 31, 1926 in Kyana, Indiana, to the late Roy and Georgia Dugan. Cece grew up on a farm in rural Southern Indiana. With her father as her teacher in a one room schoolhouse, she was without electricity or plumbing until she was 13! She attended Birdseye High School for 3 years before moving to Huntingburg High School her senior year. She worked as an accounting clerk prior to getting married. Her marriage to Charles took her to live in Daytona, Florida, Knoxville, Tennessee, Huntsville, Alabama, and Titusville, Florida. They had a beautiful marriage full of laughter, music, and travel for over 40 years. A favorite trip was a steamboat cruise down the Mississippi River! They shared a love of a very special miniature poodle named Susie. Charles passed away in 2006. Cece loved her daily crossword puzzle! She completed one each morning well into her 90s. And she adored working jigsaw puzzles. She was an avid reader, and even enjoyed audiobooks when reading became a hardship. Known for her quiet nature, she was the sweetest lady who will be dearly missed by her family. She is predeceased by her husband, Charles Wentz, brothers, Earl and Bob Dugan, sister-in-laws, Berniece and Joanne Dugan, nephew, Don Dugan, and nephew Joe Welsh. Left to cherish her memory are her brother Bill Dugan, nieces and nephews, Susan Welsh, Rex Dugan (Sharon), Bruce Dugan, Cindy Dugan, Karen Brodfuehrer, Joan Barber, Mark Dugan, Howard Dugan, Candy Stock; sister-in-law, Sylvia Dugan, as well as numerous great nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 13 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 East 71st Street Indianapolis, IN 46220. Donations may be made in Cece's name to Bosma Enterprises, 6270 Corporate Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46278. Their mission is to create opportunities for the blind or visually impaired. It was one of Cece's favorite charities.
