

Charles Kenneth Adams was born to Mildred (Martin) Adams and George Adams on August 10, 1943, in Indianapolis, IN. Charles, affectionately known as “Kenny” was a happy child who enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly always attempting to tag along with his 5 siblings.
Charles was a very bright yet introverted child who was engaged in many school-related activities in addition also enjoyed golf and fishing. Charles accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at a very early age and maintained a relationship with the Lord throughout his life. He attended Bethany Baptist Church in his youth and would later become an active member of Greater Northwest Baptist Church. Charles graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1964.
Charles was very passionate about learning and emphasized the importance of higher education to friends and family members. He began his career at Eli Lily's and continued to advance there as a successful Department Head of the Capsule Department in manufacturing. During his time at Eli Lily’s, Charles met the love of his life, Judith Lynn Greene, where they both led successful careers and subsequently retired. He earned his Baccalaureate from Indiana University and propelled himself forward to great achievements both personally and professionally.
After retiring from Eli Lilys’, he became Director of Dealer/Special Sales Division with the State of Indiana. Subsequently, he was appointed Deputy Commissioner of Vehicle Services where he supervised Vehicle and Watercraft Titling, Registration, Excise Tax and Dealer Licensing Divisions.
Charles and Judith, affectionately known as “Judy”, were united in marriage where they remained happily devoted to one another for 44 years until she went home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2023, leaving him a heart-broken husband. Charles was a loving and protective husband to Judy, caring for her throughout their marriage and up to the end of her days. Prior to her passing, Charles and Judy enjoyed traveling, were active members of Greater Northwest Baptist Church, involved in their community and maintained many hobbies and interests.
Charles had two sons from a previous relationship, Dwight Adams and Randall Adams and a bonus son from his union with Judith, Edward Vaughn Jr. Charles was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, his loving wife, Judith Lynn Adams; son, Randall Adams; brothers, Jerry Mann, Gale Adams and Ronnie Adams.
Charles leaves a legacy of loving memories to be cherished by his two sisters, Carolyn Bacon; Juanita Garnett (Winfred); son, Dwight Adams; bonus son, Edward Vaughn, Jr.; nephews, Marcus Adams (Beverly), Oscar F. Logan, Jr. (Kenya), Terry Garnett, Terrell Garnett; niece, Jasmine Ferrell (Willie) and a host of great nieces/nephews and other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Charles will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM.
