

Charles proudly served his country in the United States Navy, enlisting in May 1968 and completing two tours in Vietnam. He was a 100% disabled Vietnam Veteran and took deep pride in his military service. After his service, Charles built a career as a Quality Engineer in the aerospace industry, where his strong work ethic and attention to detail were widely known and respected.
In his free time, Charles enjoyed watching his favorite shows and cheering on his favorite teams, the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers, with his sweetie; watching NASCAR; and spending time working on his beloved 1997 Mustang GT convertible. Above all, he was a kind-hearted, hardworking, and loyal man who deeply loved his family.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Doris Pressel; his brothers, Norm and Tommy Pressel; and his sister, Jennifer Walton.
Survivors include his life partner, Kathleen Parker; his children, Carly Smith (Nicholas), Katie Pressel, McKenzie Pressel, Cheri Grimes (John), Mitchell Vaughan (Nichole), and Samantha Newman (Chris); six grandchildren, Taylor Marksberry (Derek), Kendall Glorioso, Sydney Griffin, Nicholas Smith, Logan Vaughan, and Oynx Arnold; and two great-grandchildren, Blake Marksberry and Riley McKiddy. He is also survived by his siblings, Glen Pressel (Tee) of Sellersburg, Indiana; Kathie Rollings of Sellersburg, Indiana; and Betty Hannon of Austin, Indiana; as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
Charles will be remembered for his service, strength, and love for his family and friends. His legacy of loyalty, kindness, and dedication will live on in everyone who knew him.
