Contrell Deandre Cody was 30 years old and was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 22, 1994 and entered heavenly rest on May 20, 2025. He is the first son and oldest child born to Nakescha Joaquin Cody. Contrell was educated in the Marion County Public School System. He is the father of two children: Kimorah Jane Cody and Ki’Mari De’Arra Marie Cody.
Contrell was a smart, curious and playful child and was very protective of his younger siblings, Jaylin Sanders and Amaia Cody. With his mother working odd hours as an airline crew scheduling professional he was responsible for ensuring his siblings were cared for at home and were prepared for daily attendance at school. He was a good big brother.
As a teenager, Contrell was influenced by certain negative neighborhood factions which caused him to become a troubled youth with some unfortunate encounters with the law. He was confined in the Indiana Juvenile and Adult Prison Systems. However, after his latest release he was pursuing a significant change in his lifestyle and his station in life. He acquired an internship through the Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company which enabled him to attend courses at Ivy Technical Community College as he pursued an Associate Degree in Smart Manufacturing and Digital Integration (SMDI). Contrell received passing grades in all of his subjects and was extremely proud of the fact that he was nominated by Ivy Tech to become a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Contrell was a devoted father and leaves to cherish loving memories, his children, Kimorah and Ki’Mari, and his partner Reba Vadall Taylor. He also leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Nakescha Cody-Wells, Step-father Christopher Wells; Father Glenn Ford; Bonus Dad Jaylin Sanders, Sr.; Paternal grandparents Gilbert and Deborah Cody (The Villages, Florida); Maternal grandmother Patricia L. Kinard; siblings, Jaylin Sanders, Amaia Cody, Brittney Ford, Heaven Hardiman, Noah Garrett, Danaia Gates, and Jae’la Waughfield, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will be missed by many and fondly remembered.
