

David was born in Cahokia, IL to Royce Renard Hosp and Lavada Mae Hosp on November 12, 1948.
He graduated from Cahokia High School in 1966, attended Parks College, and then joined the US Army in 1968. Upon honorable discharge, he attended Belleville Area College and then graduated from University of Illinois in 1976.
He married Janet (Dailey) Hosp in 1976. They were married for 20 years and remained best friends for 52 years.
He moved to Indianapolis in 1976 to work for Ozark Airlines. He continued working in the airline industry for the remainder of his career.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the US Army as a Specialist 4th Class. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and 1 Overseas Service Bar.
He was a loving father and grandfather. He was a history enthusiast, enjoyed television and film, and spending time with his family. He was a kind man with a quick wit and keen sense of humor.
David is preceded in death by Renard and Lavada Hosp.
David is survived by best friend, Janet (Dailey) Hosp; son, John Hosp and daughter-in-law, Christine Hosp; grandson, Matthew Hosp and granddaughter, Isabelle Hosp; son, Michael Hosp and daughter-in-law Katelyn Coyne; brother, James Hosp.
A small interment service will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the Columbarium Annex at Crown Hill National Cemetery.
