

69, of Indianapolis departed this life on Sunday, March 30, 2025. She was born October 8, 1955 in Washington, Missouri to William and Verna May (Himmelburg) Woodson. She earned her nursing degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia and then worked as a registered nurse at hospitals and for home health care. She often made special connections with her patients and always provided exceptional care.
Donna was a kind and gentle soul who always put the needs of others first. She was a woman of faith and family. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother above all else and was known to always go above and beyond the call of duty. Donna loved working with her hands and was accomplished at needlepoint, embroidery and cooking. She relaxed by reading a good book and never passed on an opportunity to support her children and grandchildren in all of their endeavors.
She also gave regularly of herself to her church family at Christ the King Catholic Church. She distributed Holy Communion to the homebound, served on the Pro Life committee and was a familiar face at all church functions.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, William Woodson.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Patrick Fish; devoted children, Elizabeth (James) Kendall, Nathan Fish, Anna (Jacob) Palcic and Joshua (Anna) Fish; grateful grandchildren, Ruth, Noah, Miriam & Daniel Palcic, Theodore Kendall and Nadia & Chiara Fish; loving mother, Verna May Woodson; dear siblings, Marleen (Alan) Schooler, Mark (Monica) Woodson, Michael Woodson, Deborah (Larry) Henley, Sharon (Richard) Schmidt, Karen (Mike Reising) Woodson, Robert Woodson, Susan (Brea) Woodson and Judith (Eric) Grainger.
A visitation for Donna will be from 5-7pm on Thursday, April 3rd at Christ the King Catholic Church (5884 Crittenden Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46220), prayer service to follow at 7pm. A visitation will be held from 10:00AM to 12:30PM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow on Saturday, April 5th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Union, Missouri followed by interment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
