Dorothy Jean Cook Bruer

81, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family March 20, 2017 . She attended Washington High School and retired from Arsenal Tech High School where she worked for many years. Dorothy married Charles M. Bruer who preceded her in death and was a longtime resident of Woodruff Place. She is survived by her daughters Linda (Thomas) Routon, and Nina Robin Finucan; son David J. Bruer; grandchildren; Joshua (Aimee) Winkle, Benjamin (Kelly) Routon, John (Jamie) Routon, Michael Routon, Jonathon (Faith) Bruer, Rachael (Steve) Spencer, Sarah (James) Winkle-Brayant, Elizabeth Bruer and Hannah Bruer; 14 great grandchildren and one on the way; sisters Rosevan (Todd) Spinks, Marilyn (Dick) White, Carol (Lanny) Cooper, and brother Rev. Lawrence (LaDonna) Cook. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Charles Van and Rose Ida Cook, two infant brothers, sister Anita McClelland, and brother-in-law Sonny McClelland.

Visitation will be Thursday March 23rd from 4:00-8:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, Rockville Rd. Funeral Services will be Friday March 24th at 12:30 PM at Faith Assembly of God 186 Royal Road, Beech Grove, IN 46107 with her brother Rev. Lawrence Cook officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:30 AM until time of service.

Burial to follow at Westridge Cemetery.
