Dr. Joseph E. Anderson

Joseph E. Anderson, D.D.S. was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on June 20, 1932 to the late Howard Emery and Waneita Nora (Ross) Anderson. Joseph went home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2009 at the age of 77 years old.

He attended Lincoln Elementary School as a child and graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in 1950. Joseph continued his education and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University and years later earned a Dentistry degree from Indiana University. During his medical career, Joseph was awarded and recognized for his stellar achievement and knowledge in the dentistry profession from universities, hospitals, and fellow colleagues. Joseph also served his country in the United States Army for a few years.

Joseph enjoyed traveling throughout the country, participating in planning the Batton family reunions and sports. He especially loved watching professional baseball.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Herman D. Anderson in 1987. He leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, Kevin Anderson of Indiana, Andre Anderson of Georgia, and Steven Anderson of California; one brother, William Dale Anderson of Delaware; a special and devoted friend, Delores Foster; grandchildren, nephews, nieces and a host of other loved family members and friends.

God saw you getting weary, so He did what He thought best He came and stood beside you and whispered "Come and rest."

You bid no one a last farewell, or even said goodbye.

Our hearts still ache with sadness, our eyes shed many tears. A golden heart

stopped beating. God broke our hearts to prove to us,
