

Emma Louise Wallin, 80 of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, November 6th, 2017. Born on August 23rd, 1937 in Porter, IN to John Shannon Akers and Opal (Vail) Akers, Emma lived in Merrillville, IN for 50 years and was the valedictorian for the class of 1955 at Boone Grove High School and then moved to Indianapolis in 1987. Emma enjoyed being a life-long fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Purdue Boilermakers, and her hobbies included playing Bridge, growing flowers and feeding and watching birds. Emma was a devoted grandmother and grandmother to many fur-babies.
Survivors include Oscar Charles Wallin, her husband of 28 years and daughters Julie (Daniel) Kinzie of Bulffton, South Carolina and Jennifer Wallin of Indianapolis, granddaughter Hadley Danielle Kinzie, and sisters Carol Piper of Leesburg, FL, Suzie Morgan of McAllen, TX and Onnie Akers of Lafayette, IN. Emma was preceded in death by her parents and brothers John (Jack) Akers, Floyd Akers and Wayne Akers.
