Ernestine Ingram Gibbs Bell, affectionately known as "Bell" and "Ma Bell" was born May 19, 1930, in Evanston, IL. She was the 5th child of 7 children born to Elder Joseph Ingram and Carrie Bell Ingram. Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents, 6 siblings, one grandson, Jason Cole and one great-grandson, Austin Kendrick.

Ernestine grew up in Evanston, IL receiving primary and secondary education in the Evanston Township School District. Ernestine married Richard Gibbs and relocated to Grand Rapids, MI. To this union 6 children were born. Later on, Ernestine remarried John Bell and to this union two sons were born. As of 2019, Ernestine was relocated to Indianapolis, IN, to reside with family to care for her until she was called to her heavenly home.

Ernestine was a very generous, loving and caring woman who worked many years in the healthcare industry. After 25 years of dedication to the Michigan Veterans Facility, she began her retirement years over a span of 33 years. She enjoyed her retirement years spending time with family in various states, volunteering and helping those in need.

Ernestine Ingram Gibbs Bell is lovingly remembered by her 8 children: Michael, Steven (Deborah), Carl, John, Sharon Gibbs-Walker, Brenda Gibbs-Golder (Reginald), Kenneth Bell, Robert (Quanadra) Bell; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends Ruby Colbert and Jean West. Special cousin Jeffrey Tarrant.
