

Ernie served in the United States Army in the White House during the Kennedy term and was proud to have served his country doing what he loved most- being a pilot. On April 11, 2016, Ernie returned to the sky, where he could forever watch the world below. He was an instructor for Flight Safety International, in Toledo, OH and a chief pilot for Engineering Research and Arvin Industries in Columbus, IN. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 39 years, Marty; his daughter, Kristy “Joe” Mullins; his step-son, Vern Moss; his grandchildren, Christopher Holland, Steve Holland, John Mullins, Mike Mullins, Bill Moss, Rich Moss, and Sarah Moss; and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister; Ruth Fritch and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alan and Ernestine and his brother, Richard. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 12pm until the time of service at 2pm in Family Funeral Care. Burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Thanks for being the father that you didn't have to be.
