

EVANGELIST MATTIE MAE JORDAN was born July 4, 1929 to Prince A. and Ethel Beatrice Golden Gamble in Yazoo City, Mississippi. She received her elementary education in the Yazoo City Public School System.
Later, she met Freddie B. Jordan and they were united in holy matrimony on July 7, 1948. To this union ten children were born. One son preceded her in death.Mr. and Mrs. Jordan moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1959.
In the mid 60’s she was Ordained as an Evangelist at The House Of Prayer Church. She loved the Lord. Mrs. Jordan also loved to cook, fish, plant gardens, and spend time with her family. She was called home to be with her husband, Mr. Freddie B. Jordan; her father and mother, Prince and Ethel Gamble; one son; sisters and five brothers. She went Home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 11, 2013 at the age of 84 years, 3 months, and 7 days.
She leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Charles C. Jordan, Frank E. Jordan, and Carl D. Jordan; six daughters, Ethel B. Smith, Dorothy J. Jordan-Brown(Clarence), Debra Jordan-Mason, Cynthia Jordan,Antonia Jordan-Grisby (Myke), and Anita Jordan-Austin (Darryl); one sister, Rosemary L. Larkins; 23
grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 13 greatgreat-grandchildren; 5 great-great-great-grandchildren;a host of other relatives and friends. Burial will take place in New Crown Cemetery.
