Everett received his early education at school 87 and graduated from Short Ridge High School in 1959 where he excelled in sports as a state champion in track & field. He was employed at Eli Lilly with nearly perfect attendance where he retired after 42 years of service.
Everett was united in holy matrimony to current wife Jan Vandever on September 2nd, 2006. In 1958, he married Brenda Marshall and to this union three sons were born. He later married Debra Webb in 1981 and to this union one daughter was born.
Everett loved watching sports and cowboy movies almost as much as he loved to dress. He was known for his dapper fashion sense, whether he was watching TV on the couch, or stepping out he was always “clean”. He looked forward to attending jazz concerts, and occasional travel but would never stay gone for too long. He enjoyed his weekly routine visits to HomeGoods, and Taylors bakery where he was well
known and loved by his acquired retail friends. He adored his Grandchildren (his babies) who he spoke to or saw every day. He was thoughtful, loyal, loving and far from a procrastinator always wanting to “TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS” first.
Everett Vandever Jr. leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jan Vandever; Children, David, Charles, Damon & Christie Vandever, Gina Craddock; Brother, Charles (Denny) Vandever; Grandchildren, Tameka, Whitney, Jaimie, Devyn, Brandon, Jaden, Jailyn, and Jordan; Six Great-Grandchildren; Nieces, Dana and Brandi and a host of relatives and friends.
A visitation for Everett will be held Friday, March 14, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM.
