George Francis Kirkhoff Jr.

George Francis Kirkhoff Jr., age 94, of Indianapolis, Indiana went home to see the Lord on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. He was born December 1st, 1929 to parents George F. Kirkhoff Sr. and Ruth (Williams) Kirkhoff. George entered the U.S. Army in 1951 and served part of his 3 years in Korea. He married Marianne (Lee) Kirkhoff on April 6, 1953, and was a devoted and loving husband to her for over 70 years.

He was a member of the Mechanical Contractors Association and Knights of Columbus for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Some of his favorite things to do included playing bridge and euchre, golfing, bowling, traveling and boating.

George is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marianne (Lee) Kirkhoff, brother Paul Kirkhoff, sister Martha Commons, son-in-law Rick Havens and grandson Richie Havens. Survivors include children: Patsy Havens, George Kirkhoff III (Mary Ann), Joan Brown (Mike), Susan Sweezy (John), and James Kirkhoff; 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

A visitation for George will be held Monday, January 8, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5884 Crittenden Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana, followed by a funeral mass at 12:00 PM. George will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Cemetery, 9700 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250.
