Gerard Anthony Grumeretz, 65, passed away on October 22, 2025, in Avon, Indiana. Born on April 26, 1960, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Gerard lived a life marked by dedication—to his family, his faith, and his work.
Gerard proudly served his country in the United States Navy before embarking on a lifelong career as an electrician and handyman. His professional journey began with the Department of Veterans Affairs and later continued with work he described as being “for dead presidents,” a testament to both his sense of humor and the pride he took in his craft. Known for his skill and reliability, Gerard’s hands helped build and repair more than just structures—they supported a life of service and care.
His Catholic faith was the cornerstone of his life. A devoted parishioner who never missed Sunday Mass, Gerard was a member of multiple parishes throughout the years. His unwavering commitment to his beliefs provided strength and guidance through every chapter of his life.
Gerard found joy in traveling across the country in his RV, embracing the freedom of the open road and the beauty of new places. Whether running or exploring national parks, these journeys were moments of peace and solitude that he cherished deeply.
He is survived by his beloved wife Roxanne; sons Kevin and Jason; daughter Rhianna; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kyra.
Gerard’s legacy lives on through those who knew him—through every wire he connected with care, every mile traveled with wonder, and every Sunday spent in prayer. May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him.
A Memorial Service will be held on October 28, 2025, from 04:00 PM to 07:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road.
