Gertrude Amelia "Amy" Stow

Gertrude Amelia (Nuce) Stow, age 86, a resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, at Clearvista Lake Health Campus. Amy was born on November 2, 1938, in Anderson, Indiana, to the late Florence Nuce Keaton and Herman Nuce. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School and married Richard W. Stow, Sr., on June 29, 1957. They had six children: Rick, Julie, Susan, David, John, and Becky.

Amy loved to garden, read, travel, and celebrate all holidays, especially Christmas. She also enjoyed her Nips candy. She and Richard cherished their time in Fort Myers Beach, where they had owned a timeshare from 1985. She took pleasure in shelling on the beach and visiting with friends, including lifelong friends Jean and Lloyd Gift. Amy retired from Marsh Supermarket after 22 years. After retirement, she and Richard moved to Seminole, Florida, where they made new friends and participated in many activities at Edgewater Pines.

Amy was preceded in death by her husband Richard, son Rick, and son John. Amy is survived by her sister Fran Gellinger, children Julie Bailey, Susan (Mark) Keller, David Stow, and Becky (Matt) Frank, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5884 Crittenden Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, on Thursday, June 19th, 2025, at 10:30 AM. Burial will take place at a future date in Seminole, Florida, next to her husband Richard.
