Obituary of Glenn Edward Jones Jr.
Glenn Edward Jones Jr., 52, of Indianapolis, IN, born with the African given name, Kwasi, entered this world on September 8, 1968 in Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was born from the holy union of Glenn E. Jones Sr., (Baba Kwame) and Dr. Jeanette (Davis) Jones (Dadashinarehema). He departed this life and passed on to his heavenly home on May 6, 2021. He was baptized as an infant at the United Methodist Ebenezer Baptist Church, in Madison Indiana. In his earlier years he lived in various places around the world due to his parents’ military background. Some of those places included Madison, Hanover, and Evansville Indiana, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Colorado Springs and Greeley Colorado, and Vicenza, Italy. Glenn thoroughly enjoyed sports, such as soccer, in which he played on the Vicenza Italy cougars, where they won a championship. He also loved football and basketball, where he played at his high school, Harrison High School, in Colorado Springs. He attended Northern Colorado University in Greeley, CO, where he studied Business and Psychology, and played collegiate level football, sporting jersey #99. Glenn worked as a manager at 7-11 convenience store for almost 10 years, before transferring to another management position at Wal-Mart. He was dedicated to his work, and never met a stranger. He enjoyed barbequing with his friends, fishing, and having cookouts with family and friends, but his most precious pastime was spending time with his daughter, Amber. The two of them loved to travel and spend time with one another. Glenn had an uplifting spirit, a gentle soul, with a happy-go-lucky personality. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father; Glenn E. Jones Sr., his maternal grandparents, George Davis Jr., and Jessie Mae Williams, and his paternal grandparents, Virgil and Gertrude Alums, and Barbara Jones. He leaves to cherish memories: his daughter, Amber Nicole Jones, of Detroit MI, his mother, Dr. Jeanette Jones, and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
