Gloria S. Butler

Gloria was the daughter of the late Jack and Virginia Johnson.

Gloria was educated at Theodore Roosevelt High School, in Gary Indiana, and a graduate of 1949.

Gloria was a Disc Jockey for WWCA Radio in Gary Indiana and House Keeping Supervisor at Mt. Zion Geriatric Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Gloria was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, in Indianapolis, Indiana, under the Pastoral Leadership of Ronald Covington Sr. Gloria's present was strongly felt and will be greatly missed as she was a member for 38 years and served as, Sunday School Superintendent, Vice President Deacon Wives, Choir Director, and Vice President Mass Choir.

Gloria was also affiliated with The Red Hat Club, as she was Queen Mother and was also affiliated with the Foster Grandparent Program of Indianapolis.

Gloria was united in Holy Matrimony to Lawrence Butler in 1959, whom preceded her in death.

Gloria was preceded in death by both parents; a son, Donald Eaves; sisters, Lorraine Johnson and Corrine Davis; and one brother, Henry Johnson.

Gloria leaves lasting memories with her two granddaughters, Lynette Eaves Garrison (Robert) of Indianapolis, and Lawanna Eaves Jones (William) of Gary IN.; two grandsons, Darnell Eaves of California and Duane Hinkle of Indianapolis, a daughter-in-law, Beverly Ann Eaves of Indianapolis, and a God-daughter, Tommie Washington of Indianapolis as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Service for Gloria will be held, 12:00 pm, Friday, March 5, 2021, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1301 Goodlet Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, with visitation held from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm, all taking place at the Church.

Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, 700 W 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.
