Henry was born at home in Rocky Ripple to Leo Nathaniel Carr Sr. and M Elizabeth Watt on 28 July 1940. He went to school at St. Thomas Aquinas and Broad Ripple High. He married Lynda Louise Wolfram on the 31st of August 1963 in Willow Grove, PA. He was an auto body paint and repair man of the highest caliber, working at every body shop and dealership in the Indianapolis area over the course of 50+ years. Many of the cars he restored for customers are still winning trophies today. It was in the Navy that he learned metalwork as an airframes mechanic, and where he met Lynda (always known as Ginger) at Johnstown Naval Air Station. They lived in Warrington, Pennsylvania until 1973, when they bought several acres and a horse for Ginger in Brownsburg, Indiana. They lived there until her death in 2005. They were active members of Brownsburg Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years, where Ginger sang in the choir and painted many devotional banners for services there. Henry stayed on in Brownsburg, performing concourse-level restorations on antique cars until 2016, when he retired and moved to Franklin, Indiana.
Henry is preceded in death by his wife Ginger, his parents Leo and Betty, brother Leo Carr Jr., and his sister Margaret Chandler.
