
Ira James Hizer Jr. July 7, 1944 - September 14, 2009 Ira James Hizer Jr., 65, Kokomo, passed away at 4:40 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 7, 1944, the son of Ira James Hizer Sr. and Mary Louise Miller Hizer in Kokomo. He received his education in the Kokomo public school system, receiving his GED. He received his degree from Vincennes University majoring in plumming. He was self employed as a handyman for many years. He was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church. Ira enjoyed socializing with his friends and loved being with his family. He is survived by his children, Ira and wife Sharon Hizer, III., Dana Michelle Hizer, Quinsandra Jones, Perry Jones, Denise Johns, and Dean Brown; sisters, Patricia Cressie, Elizabeth Hizer, Janice and husband John McDonald, Charlotte and husband Gerald Jefferson, Catherine and husband John Tyree, and Jacqueline Douglass; brothers-in-law, Terry Dungey and Thomas Bogus; seven grandchildren and one expected; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. His parents and four sisters preceded him in death. Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Second Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Robert Lee will be the officiant and eulogist. Memorial contributions can be made to the Second Missionary Baptist Church Educational Department. Arrangements entrusted to Bluitt & Son Funeral Home.
