Isaac Wellington Jr.

Isaac Wellington, Jr. was the oldest of four sons born on October 5, 1942, to Isaac Sr. and Lina E. (Russell) Wellington. Isaac graduated from I.P.S. school #37 and Arsenal Technical High School. He also attended and graduated from skilled trade school. Ike grew up on the “Hill”.

Isaac retired from Allison/Rolls Royce after 42 years as a parts inspector. Ike accepted the Lord as his savior and had been baptized as a young boy. He was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. He grew up across the street from Old Galilee. Ike loved being surrounded by family and friends. The last Wellington Family reunion was initiated by him, the most important thing to Isaac was his family. Isaac enjoyed painting cars, sketching/drawing, playing cards, travelling, grilling and gambling.

Isaac departed this life on March 24, 2025, at the age of 82 years, 4 months, 3 weeks, and 5 days surrounded by family at home. He was preceded in death by his parents Isaac Sr. and Lina Wellington, brother Calvin Wellington, and son DeWayne L. Wellington.

Isaac leaves to cherish his memory, devoted and loving wife Linda Wellington, his daughters Felecia Wellington, LaTanya Dodson, Cozette (Antonio) Moore, Tamica Wellington, sons Rev. William (Darlene) Wellington, Sr., Michael (Debbie) Wellington, Jeffrey Greene; brothers, Wayne (Ophelia) Wellington, Clarence (Janice) Wellington and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Isaac will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 2624 E 25th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46218, followed by a celebration at 12:00 PM.
