His father, Benjamin J. Edwards, mother, Laura Bell Haley- Edwards, brothers, Wayne Edwards, Reginald Edwards, sisters, Alice Young, JoAnn Porter preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Bobbie Edwards, sons, James R. Edwards Jr (Sonya), Tierre Edwards Sr, Bakari Edwards, Gabriel Edwards, daughters, Elonda Adair, Shawna Edwards, brothers, Rufus Edwards (Vera), Donald Edwards Sr (Helen), sisters, Estell McAllister, Mary Phillips (Tony), 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
His visitation will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2015, 9am- 11am, with the Homegoing Celebration commencing at 11am at Christ Church Apostolic. His burial will take place in Lincoln Memory Gardens.
