He is a graduate of State Street High School, Korean War Veteran, Tap Dance Entertainment Professional and retiree of U.S. Postal Service. Married Rosemary Robinson, May 17, 1958.
He is preceded in death by his father, Carley Gilbert; mother, Roxie Gilbert
and five (5) sisters, Anna Mckinnie, Gertrude Gilbert, Earline Miller, Mary Turner, Maritta Gilbert. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Rosemary Gilbert; son and daughter-in-law, Tony L. and Mattie Gilbert; daughter, Debbie R. Gilbert; two (2) sisters, Velma Ogels by (James) and Catherine Brown(Herman) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who loved him.
