

Janet I. Watkins-Burch, 83, Indianapolis, transitioned from labor to reward on February 25, 2016. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. She was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of theBlack Women's Catholic Caucus, the Elites of Holy Angels, Chairperson of the Revival Committee and she served in several capacities on various other Church and communitycommittees. Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester Smith, Sr. and Annabelle Barlow Smith; daughter, Stephanie Terrell; sisters, Elizabeth B. Smith, Margaret Allen, and Twyla Smith; brothers, Sylvester “Bud” Smith, Jr., William Smith and Pete Smith.
Janet leaves to cherish her memory, beloved husband, Claud Burch; sons, Steven Terrell of Indianapolis, Indiana; Stacy Terrell (Brenda) of Georgia; Timothy Watkins (Wendy) of Vancouver, Washington; and Wilson Burch (Marcia) of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughters, Karen Fox of Indianapolis, Indiana; Joyce Bradley of Vancouver, Washington; Laura McNeil (Robert); Cordryan Waire (John); all of Indianapolis, Indiana; brothers, Ronald Smith (Willie) and Carl “Buzzy” Smith of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister, Betty Howcott of Indianapolis, Indiana; 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives; the Holy Angels Church Family and many cherished friends.
Her visitation will take place onFriday, March 4, 2016, 5pm-8pm, with another visitation taking placeon March 5, 2016, 11am-12pm, with the Mass of Christian Burial commencing at 12pm in St. Rita Catholic Church. Her entombment willtake place at Calvary Cemetery.
