John Anthony Konkel

John A. Konkel, 96, of Indianapolis passed away November 12, 2018. John was born April 2, 1922 in St. Paul, Minnesota the son of the late John and Rose (Strosin) Konkel. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and was a US Army Veteran of WW II. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris and his sisters Margaret Scheisel and Genevieve Langevin. John is survived by his children, Robert "Bob" Konkel and his wife Rozanna Redmond, William "Bill" Konkel and his wife Felicia and Ann Axon and her husband Thomas; 6 grandchildren, Lisa Price and her husband Shawn, Joseph Konkel and his wife Nicole, Catherine Axon, Sarah, Nicholas and Samuel Konkel; and great-grandchildren, Evangeline and Grayson Price. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 4100 E. 56th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46220. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 4-7 PM at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E. 71st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46220. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 1201 E. Maryland St., Indianapolis, IN 46202.
