

John attended Elementary school #26 and Jr. High School #56. He then attended Arsenal Technical High School where he received his Diploma. After graduating from there he later attended ITT Vocational College and received a degree as a Welder Fitter.
John met his first love Beverly Cheshier in 1969 and during that time together they birthed a son, Ronald Stanphany Cheshier (Lil John).
John was a man that professed his faith in Christ. John had a personality that was addictive and made you want to be around him! Everyone who met and encountered John fell in love with him. There are many loving stories to be told.
John loved to travel which led him to move to Los Angeles in 1981. From there he later moved to Oakland California in 1983 where he worked on a shipyard as a Welder Fitter. John also was a bus driver and a tour bus driver. He knew California like the back of his hand and that became his second home.
John confessed to his mother that he missed her and was ready to move back home. Here John became employed at Rug Doctor as a Supervisor and later went to Pratt Logistics as a Screen printer.
His hobbies included Martial Arts, watching movies, reading, writing, tennis, walking, TALKING, helping others, and giving nicknames to his nieces and nephews. The most important of them all was he loved his family and he LOVED HIS GRANDDAUGHTER POOH! OH, AND EVERYONE KNOWS THAT JOHN LOVED TO DRESS!!
John met his fiancé Diane L. Miller 14 years ago here in Indianapolis, whom he loved very much. They had a date set to be married on April 12th, 2020.
John Andrew Wright departed this life on Thursday April 16th 2020 at the age of 67 years old, 3 months and 4 days.
John was preceded in death by his Father John A. Wright, Sr.; Mother Louise Wright-Cook; Brother, Lester Reed Jr.; Sisters, Mary Frances Reed, Barbara Ann Gross-Campbell, Mary Louise Wright-Yarbrough, and JoAnn Reed; Nephews, Larry E. Tibbs, and Ka’Shaun L. Hollins; Brother In Laws, Alfonso Robert Bollen, DaleWayne Cheshier, James Yarbrough Sr. and Morris Curry; Sister In Laws, Armeeda J. Reed, and Clementine Cheshier-Allensworth.
John leaves to cherish his memory and legacy: Sons, Ronald Cheshier aka “Little John”, Tony Wright and Princeton Dew; Brother, William James Reed; Sisters, Marjorie L. Oats, and Rose M. Wright-Curry ; Sister In Law, Brenda Cheshier; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
