Joseph R. Lackey, Sr., passed away December 30, 2017 at the age of 95. He was born on January 6, 1922 in Stanford, KY., to Robert and Margaret Lackey. Joseph was a WWII Army veteran and a retiree from Howard W. Sams Publishing Company. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his three sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife Lelia Mae Garner-Lackey, five children. Rebecca (George) Myers, Rosaland (Lawrence) Roberts, Joseph Lackey, Jr., Carolyn (Adrian) Smiley, Deborah (James) English, 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grand child. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., on January 4, 2018 at Crown Hill Funeral Home, with visitation from 11 a.m.
