Kathleen "Kathy" M. Walterman

Kathleen M. “Kathy” Walterman, 81, Indianapolis, IN passed away May 2, 2026. Kathleen was born August 13, 1944 in Brown County, IN to the late George Sr. and Margaret Stewart. Kathy was a devoted Wife, an amazing Mother, Mamaw, Great-Mamaw, Great-Great Mamaw, Daughter, sibling and loyal friend. Kathy’s passion was spending time with her family and she was deeply devoted on being an incredible caregiver to everyone, ensuring her family was always taken care of. Kathy was also an avid chef and baker. She planned her family gatherings with enthusiasm and was an outstanding hostess. Kathy had a successful career as a dedicated Executive Assistant to Rollin Dick for over 40 years, retiring in 2011.

Kathy married Delbert “Red” Walterman in 1962, and they were happily married for nearly 59 years before Red’s passing in November of 2021. She is survived by her Children: James (Andrea) Walterman, Christina Edwards, Julie Walterman, and Jo Ann (Mark) Spall; Grandchildren Hannah, Meredith, Nicholas, Bryan, Lauren, Brooke and Christopher, along with 10 Great-Grandchildren and one Great-Great-Grandchild. Also surviving are Kathleen’s brothers, Michael Sr. (Jan) Stewart, William Stewart, and Robert Patrick “Pat” Stewart. Kathleen is preceded in death by her brother George Stewart, Jr., and sisters Paula (Marvin – deceased) Jones, and Therese Stewart.

Visitation will be held at Little and Sons Funeral Home (4901 E. Stop 11 Rd., Indianapolis, In. 46237) on Thursday, May 7, 2026 4PM – 7PM. Funeral Services will be on Friday May 8, 2026 at 11:30AM with visitation one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Indianapolis.
