Keith Alan Thomas

Keith Alan Thomas born October 30, 1953, passed away on February 16, 2021 with family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Cindy Thomas, sons Daniel (Victoria) Thomas and Noah (Allie) Thomas and granddaughter Amelia; siblings Stanley (Jane) Thomas and Charlotte (David) Richardson. He is preceded in death by siblings Steven and Jackie. A graduate of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Keith was a longtime employee of Conner Prairie where his passion for history and woodworking were a perfect match for his creative mind. He helped build and maintain many exhibits enjoyed by visitors year after year, including many in the children’s and hands-on areas. His recent work included many items for the annual Headless Horseman event. He was incredibly proud of his work and loved seeing others enjoy things that he created. Keith was also a passionate Colts and Pacers fan. He and Cindy rarely missed a game, and were season ticket holders of both for many years. He spoke fondly of attending Pacers games with his late father Harold beginning in the 1960s at the old Fairgrounds Colosseum. When his son Daniel was young, they would go to basketball card shows together, amassing a large and unique card collection of their favorite player, Reggie Miller. At Colts games, Keith had a bit of a trademark crazy-hair hat, that fans in his section would rub for good luck. It even worked, occasionally. Keith was always generous with this time and willingness to help others, and wouldn’t hesitate to put aside something he personally needed to do in order to help a family member or friend with anything they needed. He will be missed dearly, but fondly remembered by all. A celebration of Keith’s life will be held Saturday May 15, 2021 at The Woodland Hall at Conner Prairie, 13400 Allisonville Road, Fishers, Indiana 46038, from 1 to 3:30 pm. There will be a time of sharing memories from family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his honor to Conner Prairie’s Youth Programs or a charity of your choice.
