Obituary of Larry Jerome Kelley
Larry Jerome Kelley, age 74 passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022. Larry was born January 18, 1948 in Fisher, Louisiana to parents David Kelley and Izola Blinks Kelley. Larry was employed with Charles Schwab as a Financial Consultant for many years prior to his retirement. Larry was a veteran of the United States Army and an extremely proud alumni of Grambling State University and Indiana University. He was equally proud to be a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. Larry was a loving and devoted man of faith. Although his community involvements and contributions were many - he was passionate about each and every project, board and organization that he served. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Hodari Amefika Pinkney; and brother, David Kelley Jr. Left to cherish the memories of his legacy are his loving and devoted wife, Gloria Warthaw Kelley; son, Onaje' Akita Pinkney of Durham, North Carolina; daughter, Kianga Kelley-Crowley (Jacob) of Wichita, Kansas; special niece, Michelle Holloman of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Jahzara Asali Pinkney of Durham, North Carolina, Onaje' Hodari Pinkney of Durham, North Carolina and Alaria Joy Forsythe of Newark, New Jersey; siblings, Lois English of Los Angeles, California, Gerald Wayne Kelley of Los Angeles, California; Bruce Kelley (Wanda) of Dallas, Texas and Vernetta Broadnax of Dallas, Texas; and a host of beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm at The Silver Centre Event Hall, 10202 E. Washington St., Suite 300, with formal service beginning at 1:30 pm. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.williamsandbluitt.com for the Kelley family.
