Lillian "Lil" Weathers, age 91, was born to parents, Vance and Madeline (Pryor) Bullock on June 22, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the second oldest of four siblings, and the only girl. She was educated in the Indianapolis Public School System. Lillian Bullock united in marriage at the age of 14, to the late Frank Richard Rogers Sr. She gave birth to her first born at the age of 16. "Lil" was ultimately the mother of 8 children.
Later in life, "Lil" was united in marriage to her husband of 24 years, the late David Weathers Sr. "Lil" enjoyed her primary role as a housewife. For some years, "Lil" also enjoyed working in dining services for the Marriot Hotel in downtown Indianapolis.
"Lil" was an avid reader, she enjoyed word searches and puzzles. She loved fishing, shopping, and bingo. She had a love for music, gospel in particular. Golden Coral was her favorite restaurant. "Lil" often greeted you with a smile, hug, and a kiss. She rarely ended a visit, or phone call without saying "I Love You". Her warm, and caring spirit led others to refer to her as a great woman, and angel, and sweet lady.
She was a faithful member of Zion Hope Church until her time of death, just over 45 years. She served as a deaconess ministry, and missionary ministry. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Dr. James S. Wells.
Lillian was called home on July 21, 2020.
"Lil" is survived by son Jerry Rogers (Sue Rogers); son Jerome Towner; son Gilbert Towner; son Robert Rogers (Marie Rogers); and brother David Bullock. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
"Lil" is preceded in death by son Frank Rogers; son Ernest Rogers; son Maynard Towner; daughter Evelyn Jean Rogers; step-son David Weathers Jr.; brother Chester Bullock, brother Herbert Bullock; granddaughter Tahnesia Towner; granddaughter Veronica Vardiman.
