There was only one man whom I knew ever loved me, and that man is asleep in death.  He is my father - Mark Tyson, Sr. 

In the last three years of my life, my father noticed a dramatic change in me.  We grew closer than we had ever been in my adulthood.  I showed him a few things (nothing compared to what he showed me and my brother Travis — the world — as we traveled along with him as he served in the ARMY.) 

In the years before he passed, my dad literally every time that he saw me, he reflected on things I’ve shown him, and he literally told me that he was proud of me, each and every time… literally.  Like he didn’t know what else to say.  Because he was in awe that his oldest son that he raised, grow-up to be what I was supposed to be.

No one has told me that they are as proud of me as many times as my dad.  And I take comfort in that.  He asked me how I felt turning 41.  One of the things I told him is that I am glad, and I am proud to be his son because of the way he raised me.

My dad and were close.  Very close.  My dad took my secrets to his grave.  And we will laugh and speak of them in the new world.

I never have missed my dad before until now, yet I know I will see him again in Jehovah’s world… just as long as I get my act right.  

I love you, Dad.  Your grandkids and I will see you soon.

Brother, you were one of the gentlest soft spoken giants I've ever meet.  You make a major impact on my outlook on life and influenced me in ways you never knew.  You will always be my big brother.  Love always and forever.

All the places you took me that my eyes seen that I have never seen before all over the world thank you for memories that will never be forgotten I love you with all my heart and looking forward to seeing you in the New world to come as God promised John 5:28 ,29 in Revelation 21:3, 4 always sweetheart my beloved father of my children Lisa Wills Tyson Garnett

Thankful I had the opportunity to have Mark as one of my battle buddies during Desert Storm. Our brother warrior will be missed.
